V. I. Hutchinson is a fiction writer who delights in dabbling: poetry, short fiction, and full length novels, usually more than one at a time. The goal never really changes. She wants to drop you into a vivid world and leave you with people who stay with you long after the last page.
She was born and raised in the Bronx, a first generation American with Filipino roots, and she writes from South Florida now. Her interests are vast and quirky, with a sprinkling of fantasy and a pinch of macabre.
Four books are in print, and a fifth, Everything In Between, arrives in Fall 2026. A fantasy novel, Keeper’s Log: The Earth Witches of Terha, has been in progress since 2011 and is currently winning most of the arguments. She is happiest when something she wrote brings someone a glimmer of encouragement, entertainment, or joy.
